Privacy policy
Effective 20 August 2026
MyYear uses your data to sign you in, sync your calendars, and run the service. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across apps.
Who is responsible
MyYear is operated by Mykhailo Churilov, who is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at mikki@kunso.com.
Information we process
- Account information: your email address, a unique account identifier, sign-in provider, and, when supplied by Google Sign-In, your name and profile photo. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are not visible to MyYear.
- Calendar content: calendar names, optional emoji and colors, event titles, event dates, and any sharing details you choose to add.
- Preferences: week-start preference, panel preferences, selected calendars, and a limited copy of upcoming calendar information used by the iOS widget are stored on your device. Onboarding completion is stored both on your device and with your account so that completed onboarding does not return after a reinstall or on another device.
- Technical information: Firebase and our hosting providers may process ordinary service information such as IP address, device or browser information, authentication events, and security logs to deliver and protect the service.
How we use information
We use your information to create and secure your account, sync calendars and events across your devices, operate the widget, provide support, prevent abuse, diagnose service problems, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent personal information. MyYear does not currently use advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or behavioral advertising.
Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process account and calendar information to provide the service you request, to pursue legitimate interests such as security and reliability, with consent where required, and to comply with legal obligations.
Service providers and transfers
MyYear uses Google Firebase for authentication and cloud database services, and Google Sign-In when you choose that option. These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. They may process information outside your country using safeguards permitted by applicable law.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer where appropriate notice and safeguards apply.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and calendar information while your account is active so that the service can work. You can delete individual events and calendars at any time. You can also delete your account from Settings, which deletes your Firebase Authentication account and your calendar and event records from MyYear's active database.
Our service providers may retain limited backups, security logs, or records for the periods described in their policies or when required by law. Local preferences or widget data may remain on a device until the app is removed or its local data is cleared.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Use the controls in MyYear to edit or delete calendar data and delete your account. For another privacy request, contact mikki@kunso.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Security
We use Firebase Authentication, encrypted network connections provided by our platforms, and access controls intended to protect account and calendar information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong, unique password and protect access to your devices.
Children
MyYear is a general-audience planning tool and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without the consent required in their country, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a change materially affects how personal information is used.
